Job Posting Title: Enterprise Application Architect

Location: Hyderabad

Job Description Summary

Primarily accountable for the planning, strategy, identification and articulation of the future state of technology within the Wealth Management Domain. Responsible for cultivating the support of financial and strategic decision makers in IT and business, actively disrupting the existing perspectives to drive competitive advantage. The expectation includes executive presence and understanding which storytelling tools will convey the appropriate message to influence or prove alignment of IT with business objectives. The role will drive innovation, make strategic decisions and actively guide teams toward a future state consistent with the strategy.

The Team

The MassMutual Enterprise Architecture team in the Enterprise Technology and Experience organization is seeking an outstanding Enterprise Architect (Application) to join our team.  Enterprise Architecture is composed of Business, Application, Infrastructure, Technology & Design and Security architecture domains. Joining this team will give the Application EA a unique perspective and opportunity to partner with best-in-class architects on enterprise wide technology initiatives.

The Impact:

This role will work with IT and Business stakeholders line of business delivery teams, engineers, application operations, product managers, and enterprise stakeholders to help deliver innovative, data-driven systems aimed at transforming the insurance industry. As part of the application architecture team, incumbents may be responsible for any of the following:

  • Partner with senior leaders to develop and maintain the Technology strategies & roadmaps

  • Manage a domain(s) of the MassMutual Application Portfolio Management data for quality

  • Technical evaluations and benchmarking of core application platforms, frameworks and technologies

  • Specification and publication of standards around application design and software engineering best practices

  • Thought leadership and active participation in conferences and research with strategic partners and academic institutions

  • Partner with business executives and senior architects to identify data and process issues, then provide solution options and recommends options

  • Provide recommendations on system options, risks, cost/benefit analysis, and impact on cross-domain systems, business strategy, goals and processes

  • Engage in SA problem solving, snapshots and full architecture documents

  • Actively publish deliverables, and utilizes multi-media to educate and engage with federated solution architecture community members

  • Collaborate with extended enterprise architecture, business, and IT support teams to communicate architecture strategies, standards, and direction

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies

The Ideal Qualifications

  • 10+ years of related IT Architecture or IT consulting experience

  • Preferred job experience includes some knowledge of Insurance and Wealth Management 

  • Excellent communication, presentation, influencing and reasoning skills 

  • A team-focused mentality with proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders 

  • Experience in Capability mapping and business architecture concepts

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on the ability to effectively influence others, collaborate and partner. 

  • Drive AI-first application architecture by embedding GenAI and Agentic AI capabilities into domain roadmaps aligned to enterprise AI strategy and value targets.

  • Design and govern AI-ready application architecture patterns integrating LLMs, APIs, and data platforms to enable scalable AI-driven capabilities.

  • Java, React foundational experience is required.

  • Experience in Event Driven Architecture(Kafka, Kinesis, or similar tech) API first development, etc.

  • Solution Architecture experience designing and building of applications

  • Understanding of the impact of IT on business results 

  • Demonstrated experience using Architecture Methodology (TOGAF, Archimate) 

  • Strong decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate one 

  • Experience in Public Cloud platforms (preferably AWS), solution design and development using Cloud-native services, and understanding of cost rationalization. 

  • Strong experience in Architecture and Design patterns 

  • Developed acumen in Domain Driven Design 

  • Strong experience with event streaming design and micro-service based architectures

  • Track record of designing architectural reference material

Fake Job Postings

Fake job postings are a common scam where fraudsters create enticing job listings for companies on popular job boards or social media platforms, often promising high salaries, flexible hours, and amazing benefits. These scams are conducted through online communication and affect all types of companies, regardless of their size, across the country.

MassMutual India values your privacy and security. We will never ask candidates to pay any kind of recruitment or placement fee, transfer cash, or make an investment in any product or service. We will never ask candidates to provide information, such as bank account details, social security numbers, National ID, credit card numbers, or banking PIN numbers, via email, phone, or online platforms.

Common fraud schemes:

  • Individuals posing as recruiters from the actual company.
  • Fake recruiting pages or job postings on sites such as LinkedIn and Google Hangouts.
  • Fraudsters using different channels such as Facebook Messenger, LinkedIn, or Skype to connect with potential victims.
  • Contacting candidates for conducting fake interviews and making fake job offers.

What to do:

  • Do not engage with suspicious recruiters or job postings.
  • Report fraudulent job listings to the relevant job board or platform.
  • Block and mark emails/messages as spam if you suspect fraud.
  • Verify job postings only through MassMutual India’s official website and trusted recruitment channels.

Phishing Scams

These scams often start with an email that appears to be from MassMutual India, asking you to click a link to apply for a job or update your application. The link redirects to a fake website designed to steal your personal information or install malware on your device.

Work-from-Home Scams

With the rise of remote work, scammers can now offer seemingly perfect work-from-home jobs appearing to be from MassMutual India. These scams often require upfront payment for training materials, software, or equipment—something MassMutual never requests from candidates.

How to Spot a Job Scam

    1. Requests for upfront payments—No legitimate employer asks for money.
    2. Unrealistic salary offers—If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
    3. Vague job descriptions—Scammers avoid providing clear job details.
    4. Unprofessional communication—Poor grammar, unofficial emails, or suspicious interview processes.
    5. Pressure to act quickly—Scammers create urgency to prevent you from verifying details.
    6. Requests for sensitive personal information early in the process—A real employer will not ask for bank details or personal IDs before an official job offer.

What to do:

If you discover a fake job posting or are subject to a phishing scam or any of the above-mentioned frauds, consider filing a cybercrime complaint, report the scam to the job board or social media platform where you found the posting, and report it to MassMutual India. You should also consider filing a complaint with your local police department.
